Hi my name is Kim and I'm the gleeful owner of my Bichon Frise named Daisy. She recently came to our home and has brought with her so much affection and love. She is one of the love's of my life and is teaching me a wonderful gift of living in the present. I recently took Daisy to visit my grandmother who is in advanced stage Alzheimer's and lives in a nursing home. Although my grandmother was sadly not responsive the day we were there a lot of the other residents were. It really brightened a sad visit with my grandmother to see how the residents responded to Daisy. Daisy also responded well with the residents freely giving her sweet gift of affection and love. This has now sparked an idea for me to try to organize an effort to take Daisy to nursing homes in order to brighten lives of those who live and work there. I think it would be wonderful to get a program started in WV where pets of almost any kind are taken to nursing homes as therapy for those who are elderly and/or sick. It was really amazing to experience the response Daisy received and I think she would like to visit more often. So I hope you follow along with Daisy and I as we embark on this journey.
